Design


Not much different from the Pro version that carries the crystal design with holographic color, Realme 5 comes with a diamond-cut design with a color blend that is quite stunning. Using Unibody Polycarbonate material, which is coated with a protective Corning Gorilla Glass 3 + on the front, Realme 5 comes with two color options: Crystal Purple and Crystal Blue. Realme 5 has a larger size than the Realme 5 Pro. Where the dimension size is 164.4 mm x 75.6 mm x 9.3 mm. While the weight is also larger is 198g. So ergonomics, the device also feels larger in the grip. However, it is still quite comfortable to grip because, on the back, Realme 5 has a curved surface with 3D contours that make it easy to grasp, although the size is rather large.

For the race kitchen specifications, Realme 5 is equipped with the latest generation middle-class SoC from Qualcomm, namely Snapdragon 665 AIE Octa-Core 11nm (4 × 2.0 GHz Kryo 260 Gold & 4 × 1.8 GHz Kryo 260 Silver + GPU Adreno 612). This SoC has slightly lower performance characteristics compared to the Snapdragon 660 (octa-Core 2, 2GHz), but for the Snapdragon 665 power business has much better efficiency. As for the choice of RAM and internal storage (LPDDR4X/UFS 2.1), the device is available with a variant of 3 GB + 32GB, 3 GB + 64 GB & 4 GB + 128 GB.

For cameras, the smartphone is equipped with four main cameras, the main sensor 12 MP PDAF aperture f/1.8, plus 8MP f/2.2 (Wide-Angle 119 °) sensor, coupled with a 2MP f/2.4 sensor (macro) and 2MP F/2.4 (Depth) sensor. The features available for photography include HDR, Nightscape, Chroma Boost, Portrait Mode, and Ultra Macro. As for the video, the smartphone is capable of recording 720p video, 1080p & 4K (30FPS), which also comes with EIS and Slo-Mo 240fps for 720p & 1080p recording.

As for the camera, Realme 5 carries a 13 MP camera with an aperture of f/2.0. The selfie camera features AI Beauty and HDR.

The battery capacity is the ultimate weapon of the Realme 5, where the smartphone is powered by a battery with a capacity of 5000mAh. With a large battery and power-saving SoC, this smartphone will be able to meet the needs of the users all day. Plus, some of the power optimization features such as AI Freeze and Content Adaptive Backlight Control, make the battery life longer. This smartphone is equipped with 5V/2A or 10W charging.

Realme 5 uses a custom OS ColorOS 6.0 that uses the operating system base of Android Pie 9.0. The UI features include Game Space, Clone Apps, Digital Wellbeing, and Parental Control.

From the sensor, the side is complete, namely Accelerometer, Gyro Sensor, Geomagnetic Sensor, Hall Sensor, RGB Light Sensor, & Proximity Sensor. The Smartphone is equipped with 4G LTE mobile connectivity, WiFi 2.4 GHz/5GHz, and Bluetooth 5.0. For security features, this smartphone also has equipped with a fingerprint sensor and face unlock. Both of these features work very responsively with less than 1 second.
